Sikunshen Beach (中文版:四鯤鯓海灘) is a long, sandy beach in Tainan, South District. The beach is about 2 kilometers long, and separated from the city by a line of trees and sand dunes. There are entrances at both ends of the beach, as well as a footpath near the middle.
The sand here is very soft, and the water depth only gradually increases as you move away from shore. Even though it's mostly shallow, some deep holes may exist, so caution is still advised while playing in the water with children or poor swimmers.
This part of Tainan has a vibrant mariculture industry, and many floating oyster habitats can be seen offshore. These bamboo habitats tend to be more concentrated around the south side of the beach, with the north end remaining free and clear for swimming.
