Sanxiantai (中文版:三仙台) is a coastal island in Taitung, Chenggong Township. The island is connected to Taiwan by an 8 arches of Sanxiantai Dragon Bridge. Around the island and under the bridge are a series of large rocks and coral reefs. These block much of the ongoing waves, allowing conditions on one side of the island to remain suitable for snorkeling in stronger waves than would be possible for other nearby reefs. There is easy access from under the bridge, or the beach on the north side of the bridge. The coast on the south side is rockier, but there are some deep pools and rocks to jump off of. On the far side of the bridge there may be more suitable places for snorkeling when conditions allow, but I have not fully explored these yet. If you do, please share your pictures and locations below.
There is a parking fee per vehicle at the public parking lot, but otherwise entry to the park is free. Beyond the bridge the trail continues along the ridge and around the island. And there is a bicycle path along the coast on the south side of the bridge.
