Nanhu Basin Waterfalls Group (中文版: 南勢湖瀑布群) is a series of several waterfalls along the Nanhu River (南勢湖溪)in Pingtung County, Neishi District (屏東縣獅子鄉). It's possible to ride all the way down to the waterfalls on mountain bike or motorcycle, but if you don't, it's only a 2.5km easy hike to the falls from where the easy road ends. The path is in very good condition and mostly flat. Despite a complete lack of hiking group flags, the path appears to be used often.
Once at the river the path continues to the right for 100 meters to Lion Waterfall (小獅王瀑布). There were a few monkeys on the trail and many more at the top of the hill.
The trail ends here but you can continue up the main river 160 meters and you'll get to the Nanhu Basin Waterfalls (南勢湖瀑布群). I've only been to the first tier. If anyone climbs to the 2nd and 3rd, please send me your photos and route information.
