Caomang Waterfall (中文版: 草芒溪瀑布) is a remote waterfall in Pingtung, Chunri Township. River tracing all the way up from the bottom takes about two hours, and passes another small waterfall along the way, or you can cut the trail in half by hiking down from the mountain. Most of the trail fairly easy, but the last 200 becomes more difficult, with big rocks in the river, requiring some climbing. The pool in front of Caomang Waterfall is deep, and is great for swimming and diving. There is another tier beyond the first one, with a similar waterfall and deep pool.
For the easiest way to the small waterfall, hike up from the bridge which takes about 40 minutes. The river is gently sloped, and mostly shallow, but there are still a few deep pools along the way.
