Nine Dragons Waterfall and Cloud Waterfall are a pair of big waterfalls in Chiayi, Dapu Township (中文版:九龍瀑布). They are located on 131, which is a small road between Dapu and Alishan, at the Jiuwanzai It’s about a 15 minute walk to each waterfall. There is a path with many stairs.
Nine Dragons Waterfall is the largest tier. It’s got a big, round pool and it’s possible to walk behind the waterfall. Mostly the water is chest deep, but be aware that there are a few deeper pockets scattered throughout the pool.
Cloud Waterfall is not far past Nine Dragons Waterfall waterfall, but the trail is steep and you have to cross over to the other side of the river. At the bottom there is a small gazebo and some benches to relax on.
From here you can cross the pool and continue all the way to Jiuwanzai Waterfall (which can be seen from the trail) or head back up the stairs. A complete circuit of the 4 major waterfalls in this area takes about 3 hours.
