Rock Wall Waterfall (中文版： 石砦瀑布) is a large waterfall in Kaohsiung, Meinong District. It's not a far hike to the waterfall, but the last section of the hike is vertical, making getting to the base of the waterfall difficult and dangerous. Safety gear is advised when climbing up the rockfall.
Before the rockfall though there are several small pools, including this interesting tunnel. Getting here is relatively easy, but past this pool requires a lot of climbing.
Meinong often experiences heavy afternoon showers on hot days. Due to the shape of the valley, this can cause rapid increases in water depth. it's advised that you visit these rivers in the morning, and if caught in a heavy rain, exit the river immediately. If the river rises and you are unable to exit, just climb up the river bank and wait for the water to recede. The water will go down again an hour after it stops raining. Patience is a virtue.
