Jinfeng Waterfall

Jinfeng Waterfall (中文版: 金峰瀑布) is a small waterfall located in Taitung, Jinfeng Township (臺東縣金峰鄉), not far from the Taimali Train Station. It's only 350 meter hike up a well made path, and there are bathrooms and a botanical garden along the way. The gardens would make a great place to camp, with a big covered area to hide under in case of rain. It doesn't seem like a place that gets many visitors.

The path continues after the main waterfall on the left side. It disappears in the river then reappears 100 meters later on the right side, then takes you up the mountain. After a while it branches left, to go further up the river. I have a strong suspision that there is another large waterfall up there, but I have not been to it yet. If you find it, please share your photos with me.

Much farther up the river that runs long the road are Bilu Hot Springs (比魯溫泉). Those hot springs are in a protected area, so the park service may block the road to Jinfeng Waterfall on holidays. Just explain the them that you are not going to Bilu Hot Springs and they should let you though. Tell them that you're going to Jinfeng Waterfall (金峰瀑布) instead.
