Guguan Dam Tailwater Outlet Waterfall

Update 2017/8: Rocks have filled in the pool

Guguan Tailwater Outlet Waterfall (中文版:谷關水壩尾水出口瀑布)is a manmade waterfall and swimming pool in Taichung, Heping District, Guguan Hot Spring Scenic Area. A large pipe transfers cool water from the base of the Guguan Hydroelectric Dam downstream towards Guguan Village. The outlet is located high up on the side of a cliff to prevent it from being covered by floods and landslides (like the previous tailwater outlet) which coincidentally also makes a nice waterfall and swimming area. The pool is very deep and there are many high rocks for jumping and diving.

It's located on the way to Maling Hot Spring, but at the beginning of the trail, so it's only a 10 minute walk from the parking area to the waterfall.
