Shalawan Waterfall (中文版: 沙拉灣瀑布群) is one of my favorite waterfalls in all of Taiwan. Simply put, it's a ton of fun. It's like a big, beautiful playground. There are dozens of waterfalls in the area, but I will only talk about the main four.
Shalawan Waterfall (沙拉灣瀑布群), Malagagulis Waterfall (兩頭蛇瀑布), Lion King Waterfall (獅王瀑布), Deer Creek Waterfall (射鹿瀑布). This page only covers, Shalawan Waterfall (沙拉灣瀑布), but you can see how to get to the other waterfalls on the attached map.
To get to Shalawan Waterfall (沙拉灣瀑布), simply drive to Old Paiwan (舊筏灣部落) at the end of Majia (瑪家鄉), then take the road down to Shalawan Waterfall (沙拉灣瀑布). You can drive all the way down if you don't mind rough roads, or you can park at the white bridge and hike 20 minutes to the waterfall.
Shalawan Waterfall (沙拉灣瀑布群) is one of my favorites for many reasons. It's extremely beautiful, but also, it has several high places to jump from. There is a flat area at the base of the waterfall which would be a nice place to camp.
Shalawan has many amazing places to jump from:
Pingtung County, Majia Township
Parking: 22.66543, 120.71573
Waterfall: 22.658549, 120.721713
