Hayouxi Hot Spring

Hayouxi hot spring (中文: 哈尤溪溫泉) is a beautiful natural hot spring. We hiked there, but it's also popular for off-road driving and mountain biking. The route is well established, so it's fairly impossible to get lost. I recommend hiking or biking to the hot spring, and camping a night there. It's possible to do it in one day on a bike or with a car, but even then, I recommend camping near the hot spring. It's really refreshing when you go in the morning. It's 25km round trip, so if you're a good trail runner, you could run it in one day on foot. You will have to cross the river (get your feet wet) about 30 times on the way over.

After 9.5km, you get to a fork in the river. This is a good place to stop and wait for your slower friends, or a good place to say hi to your faster friends who were waiting for you.Take the right fork. after a short while (1100m) you will get to a tall waterfall. Cheer up, because you're almost there. The campsite is around the very next bend, less than 100 meters away.

A short while later you will get to the campsite. Here is a good place to rest. The hot spring is just up the river.

The rocks here are very beautiful, with many unique colorations that all shine differently, depending on the light.

600m up the river from the campsite is Ha YouXi hot spring. It's pretty amazing. It's not too hot to get directly in it, so it's quite fun and relaxing.

Further up the river there is a big waterfall and another hot spring. I have not been to them though so if you decide to go check them out, please tell me about it.
