Gourd Valley Waterfall

Gourd Valley Waterfall (中文: 葫蘆谷瀑布) is a fun little waterfall. It's great for relaxing and having a beer. There is no hike, it's located very close to the parking, and it's only about an hour or so from Kaohsiung (5 minutes west of the entrance to Maolin).

A lot of people park by the bridge on the main road and just play in the water there. I have no idea why, the waterfall above is much better. It's deep, it's refreshing. There is a pool, a slide, and a nice place to jump from. It's a quick and easy way to cool off in the summer. It seems to have water for most of the year.

I've hiked up the larger river next to the waterfall for an hour, but I didn't encounter anything to interesting. I've only hiked up the river above the waterfall for about 10 minutes.
