Yufeng River Spirit Pools

The Yufeng Spirit Pools (中文版:玉峰溪碧潭群) are a series of 8 pools on the banks of the Yufeng River, in Hsinchu, Jianshi Township. Although they vary in size throughout the seasons, satellite imagery shows that these pools have persisted for many years. Cars and motorcycles can reach the bottom of the riverbed, where it's only an easy 5-minute walk to the first pool. Both the first and second pools can be reached without having to cross the river.
